Abstract
Vergence eye movements refer to disjunctive movements of the eyes in opposite directions. Vergence includes convergence and divergence. Convergence makes the line of sight of each eye turn inward toward the nose, while divergence makes the lines of sight turn outward toward the ears. Vergence is usually driven from the disparity between retinal image of each eye and from a component of near responses. This article reviewed definition, dynamics, and neural pathways of vergence eye movement system.
